** About the artist:
For the past 12 years, Samwise has been honing his skills as a flow artist, with a particular affinity for poi spinning, dedicating a decade to mastering this mesmerizing art form. His expertise extends beyond personal practice, as Samwise has become a respected educator in the flow arts community.
Samwise has shared his knowledge and insights with eager learners at many festivals including PFG, Fire Drums, and Poi Parliament. Renegade workshops hold a special place in Samwise's heart, where he thrives on the spontaneous exchange of flow concepts, enriching the community with his unique perspective. Originally hailing from Colorado, Samwise's journey has taken him across the United States, immersing him in diverse flow cultures and styles.
One of Samwise's greatest passions lies in the study of shapes, both physical and conceptual. He has dedicated years to developing terminology specific to four poi spinning, a prop he has passionately embraced as his favorite. In essence, Samwise is not just an incredible flow artist, but a skilled maker, geometer, and shapesmith weaving together the threads of creativity to craft a vibrant tapestry of flow arts excellence.
