The Men Who Paint, Cam Forrester, Greg Hargarten, Paul Trottier, Ken Van Rees and Roger Trottier, continue their Cross-Canada Art Project with an exhibition of new works at Willows Golf and Country Club October 16th and 17th.
The group is in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI this fall capturing it’s landscape in paint.
Works from their visit are featured in an exhibition entitled EASTERN EDGES along with pieces from Saskatchewan and Alberta as well as studio works derived from sketches done in the field.
The Saskatchewan-based artists have been on a mission to paint all of the country and capture the iconic and the isolated areas of Canada on canvas for two decades.
Their extensive Cross-Canada travels have seen them paint at locations including the Rocky Mountains of Alberta, the ancient villages of Haidi Gwaii in British Columbia, the northern shield and southern badlands of Saskatchewan, Ontario’s storied Algonquin Park and Georgian Bay, Newfoundland’s Gros Morne National Park and Great Northern Peninsula, Yukon’s Ivvavik National Park, the Beaufort Sea, Ellesmere Island, and most recently Jasper National Park.
Known for depicting the essence of the Canadian experience with their vibrant, expressive, and evocative paintings, the Men Who Paint have been called ambassadors of the great Canadian landscape. They have had their works displayed in galleries across Canada and abroad.
The EASTERN EDGES exhibition is free to the public, and all are welcome to attend.
