*Juan Venegas obtained his PhD in physics from Edinburgh University in 2013. But don’t worry—he soon realised his mistake and started writing film scripts. He went on to create some award-winning short film like Elle and Blind Justice. He also wrote some shorts that were completely embarrassing—these things happen.
He turned to prose in 2017, publishing numerous short stories in prominent blogs like The Junction and The Creative Cafe.
In 2022, his first Spanish novel, Segunda Juventud, came out. He later published Broken Horizons, a collection of short sci-fi stories in English.
The Infinite Walk, a coming-of-age tango story, is his latest novel. Juan has been dancing and DJing for many years, but he didn’t want to write about himself. He created a universe of fictional tangueros to bring to life the beauty, the confusion, and the bliss we all experience in milongas.
*Book Synopsis
Young physicist Darío moves to Edinburgh for his Ph.D. Alone in a cold and unknown land, he discovers Argentine tango as a way to socialise and even find love. But tango is a hard dance to learn, and it’s just as easy to make friends as it is to make enemies.
Darío will navigate crowded dance floors and intimacy challenges, searching for inspiration and connection, trying to remain emotionally stable while falling in love five times a night.
There are only two types of people in this world, those who love tango, and those who will. The Infinite Walk is a novel for both.
Juan also made a book trailer for it, as if the novel were a film. You can have a look at it here!
