Easter Eggstravaganza: Natural Dye Creations for Families

Join us on April 20, 2025, for a delightful and eco-friendly workshop: Natural Dyes for Easter Eggs.

Color your Easter eggs the old-fashioned way and liberate your kitchen from chemicals and artificial dyes. In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to color and decorate eggs using naturally occurring dyes. Discover the beauty and simplicity of natural dyeing techniques and create stunning, unique Easter eggs.

About the Facilitator

Veronica Buitron is a Miami-based designer and educator specializing in natural dyes and sustainable textiles. She discovered her passion for natural dyes while pursuing her BFA at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and furthered her knowledge with the mentoring of Peruvian dyers. Since 2016, Veronica has taught natural dyeing workshops to artisans in Ecuador and textile enthusiasts in Miami. In March 2020, she released her first book, which focuses on native dye plants from her home country of Ecuador.

EXPLORE THE MARKET | While you're at Vizcaya Village, take some time to wander the Farmers Market and chat with local farmers and vendors. The market is open from 9am to 2pm every Sunday.

LOCATION | This activity takes place exclusively at Vizcaya Village, the estate’s historic farm village, and does not include access to the east side of the property where the Main House and gardens are located.

VIZCAYA FAMILY PROGRAMS | This series is designed to create opportunities for intergenerational interactions among families with young children (ages 6-12). As such, orders that do not include a child ticket may be canceled.

To promote inclusion for all, Vizcaya ensures that all community programs, after-hour and weekend events for locals, feature activities that are physically accessible to all visitors. While not all areas of the estate are wheelchair accessible, community programs are purposefully located in areas without stairs or that can be accessed via a ramp.
