About this Event
East Winds at the East End is designed for complete beginners and anyone ready to finally figure out what all the mahjong obsession is about. We’ll walk you through the game step-by-step in a fun, relaxed setting — no experience required.
You’ll learn everything you need to get started, including:
- Understanding the tiles and reading the NMJL card
- Setting up the game and playing the game
- Basic rules, strategy, and table etiquette
- Playing through a game with hands-on guidance from Ellora Mahjong
Once you learn, you’ll understand why we say mahjong is about so much more than the tiles. It’s strategy, friendly competition, lots of laughs, and one of our favorite ways to bring people together.
