On 14th May 2023, we will be strolling along what was once described as the most beautiful walk in all England, from East Farleigh to Wateringbury and back again. Along the way we will hear tales of amongst other things: Civil War Battles, slavers and abolitionists and various stories of deadly ailments.

We will be walking from East Farleigh train station (East Farleigh station, Station Road East Farleigh ME15 0JH) across the river Medway via the exquisite medieval bridge up to the church and then into fields winding our way until we reach West Farleigh. From there we will stroll through fields onto Wateringbury. Come join us for some intriguing historical tales and great company.

**Car parking charges are NOT included. **

The walk will take approximately 4 hours (around7.17 km), will include a lunch stop (not included) and will cost £7 per person.

If we can ask that you kindly let us know if you are running late so we can wait for you otherwise we will leave on time.

Meeting time – 9:45am ready for a 10:00am prompt start.

Terrain – mainly flat other than brief hill from East Farleigh

Distance – approximately 11.2 km (7 miles)

Walking time – 4 hours walking (with lunch break in the middle)

Dogs are welcome as long as they are friendly and will go on a lead when required such as entering fields of livestock.

If we can ask everyone to bring with them:

A - Suitable footwear (strong shoes or boots preferably walking boots no Flip-flops)

B- A waterproof coat (and waterproof trousers?) in case of rain

C - Drinking water and packed lunch

D - Personal medication (please make me aware in confidence of any medical condition you may have that may affect you in the walk no matter how small)

E- Suitable walking clothing

There might only be 'natural' toilets along the way (a bush).

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND IF YOU HAVE ANY COVID SYMPTOMS

• We do take pictures on our walks for promotional and training purposes. If you do not wish to be in included, please let us know on the day.

• The walk will follow all current covid regulations.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made 4 days prior to the event will be given a credit note for a future walk that has to be used within 90 days.
