East by Southeast Festival of the Arts

Discover the only arts festival in the Southeast featuring Asian-descended artists across all genres and media: East by Southeast Festival of the Arts hosted by Clarkston Community Center October 16-18, 2026.In addition to showcasing local Asian artists with different performances each evening, we're also including daytime programming each afternoon, which will consist of different arts industry related and social advocacy workshops, panels, and mixers! It's a mid term election year, so we're focusing on how Art & Community intersect and empower us. Schedule (subject to change):Friday Oct 16 5pm-9pm: Arts & the CommunityInformational Fair with community and arts organizations. Connect with your community before enjoying a comedic line-up featuring Asian-descended and other traditionally underrepresented comedians. Mix and mingle between events and get a chance to introduce yourself to fellow artists.Comedy & Conversations. The performances includes a moderated conversation about Arts in the Community.Saturday Oct 17 2pm-10pm: Arts & the IndividualStart the afternoon by browsing through the craft market, grabbing a bite to eat before joining one of the workshops and panel discussions designed to further your craft.Mix and mingle between events and get a chance to introduce yourself to fellow artists.Afterwards, enjoy an evening of music and dance and get a chance to purchase an original work of art created live that day.Sunday Oct 18 2pm-9pm: Arts & the BusinessStroll the market or bring your kids to one of the family-oriented performances in the afternoon.Don't miss the workshops and panel discussions on creating a career in the arts.Mix and mingle between events and get a chance to introduce yourself to fellow artists.In the evening, we'll close out the festival with a film screening and mini-play festival!East by Southeast (ExSE) takes its name from where artists with cultural ties from the “East” meets where they call home “Atlanta and the Southeast US.” Yes, we know it sounds like that other directionally-named festival (unlike them, we start in the east and end in the east)!
