Eat your heart out Van Gogh & Monet! On June 29 & 30 Brooklyn’s Artmageddon Collective presents the year’s largest, most impactful, most ecological community-driven public immersive art experience: EARTHYGIRTHY!

When: Saturday & Sunday • June 29 & 30, 2024 • 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  • 

Where:  BKLYN Commons, 495 Flatbush Avenue, Flatbush, Brooklyn, N.Y.

What: Brooklyn’s extraordinary artists share their skills in a collaborative immersive art experience organized by Beautify Brooklyn’s The Artmageddon Collective. Painters, poets, collagists, illustrators, light artists, ceramicists, video installation artists, craftspeople & artists working in multiple media will lead in-person workshops in a glowing, colorful, black lit, indulgent, fun, reflective, healthy Earthy utopia. More than 600 visitors are expected to become immersed in the creation of homegrown art & explore our local ecology through a variety of activities & art workshops in a transformative space filled with art highlighting the interconnectivity between all living things & the balance between life & death, day & night. Hosted at BKLYN Commons outside two of NYC’s most magical & iconic locations–Prospect Park & Brooklyn Botanic Garden! 

EARTHYGIRTHY Earth & Art Welcome Area offers details of all artists & activities & immersive features & maps of our exhibition. The center will be located at the entrance of 495 Flatbush Avenue, just across the street from the Prospect Park Q-train station. All are invited to participate in our creative art & Earth activities any time from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., take their work home, or leave it behind to include in our growing earthscape! The typical experience lasts 80-minutes or longer. Select art from members of the Artmageddon Collective will also be on exhibition & available for purchase.

Cost: Event is free with suggested donation of $15 for children & $20 for adults. Unlimited VIP Day Passes are also available.  RSVP for tickets and merch at BeautifyBrooklyn.org. 

Artists, Poetry & Music: An incredibly unique ensemble of artists of varied styles, disciplines  & inspirations are all combining their talents for Earthygirthy into one incredible multi-sensory experience with both high tech & organic elements, light, sound & nature. Alla Karasik, Alyona Makeeva, Anduin Vaid, Danylo Korotin, Dia Beggs, Diana Shoenbrun, Hannah Witner, Heather Lee Allen, Jodi Cook, Marisa Stark, Nate Dorr, Nicole Padilla, Rick Midler, Robert Elstein, Tabor Axelrod Paoli, Yaching Cheung & others collaborate to stretch the limits of what an immersive experience can be in an emerging artistic & entertainment medium that will engage participants well beyond the typical role of spectator & inspire in new ways.

Activities: From painting collaborative large-scale watercolor scrolls to constructing a model Earth sculpture composed of reclaimed objects, to adding to a growing, glowing simulated root system or focussing in meditative spaces, experiencers at Earthygirthy will be inspired, restored, revitalized & connected by an immense weekend-long event with multiple opportunities to create & chill, set in a magical, magnified, larger-than-life luminescent terrarium, with art, sound, text, activities & workshops. With video & light installations such as an animated cocoon bubble, dreammachines, star sticks, electronic objects & visionary art, experiencers will arrive & indulge in a short meditation & setting of intentions & receive a game card that will help guide them through their journey. Visitors are welcome to bring their creations home or leave them behind for the enjoyment of others.
