This Earth Day, join us at the Heard Museum to slow down, connect, and reflect on our shared responsibility as stewards of the beautiful desert we call home.🌿 Learn about the plants and natural materials used to dye wool for weaving from Gerard Begay (Navajo), and discover how colors are gathered from the land and prepared for use in textile traditions.
🏜️ Discover fascinating insights about saguaros and the desert ecosystem from our partners at Desert Botanical Garden, who will be here to explain how these iconic cacti expand and contract to store water. Plus, learn about their FRAMERATE: Desert Pulse exhibit and explore how saguaros subtly move and grow throughout the year.
