How old will you be in 2040? The Earth Day theme for 2024 is “Planet vs. Plastics,” and the people over at earthday.org have set a goal: “60% reduction in the production of all plastics by 2040” - that's just 16 years away! Let’s explore what this means for us.
We'll be joined by folks who know a thing or two about sustainable textiles, and medical professionals who are working to reduce the amount of plastic they use on a daily basis. Let's brainstorm innovative solutions to the Planet vs. Plastics dilemma. Together, we can find real ways to realize the collective goal of 60% less in 16 years.
Recommended age: 7+ (that’s 23 or so by 2040). Adults are of course welcome, and Science and Social Studies teachers/students are especially encouraged!
