Celebrate Earth Day with hands-on stewardship supporting our Environmental Justice Project San Diego grantee at Chollas Creekside Park.
About this Event

Join our San Diego grantee for a hands-on stewardship day at Chollas Creekside Park in Southeastern San Diego. This community-led initiative connects urban green spaces along Euclid Avenue through tree planting, placemaking, and long-term stewardship—supporting healthier, more vibrant public spaces in historically redlined neighborhoods.

What We’ll Do
Volunteers will take part in family-friendly, hands-on activities, including:

  • Litter removal and park cleanup
  • Invasive species removal
  • Tree and plant installation, watering, and care
  • Graffiti abatement and site beautification

Why It Matters
This project activates underinvested neighborhoods through green infrastructure and public art while improving climate resilience by addressing urban heat, unsafe streets, and fragmented green spaces. It also supports paid workforce development in environmental restoration and builds community pride through engagement and storytelling.

Celebrate Earth Day by giving back to the land and the community. Together, we’ll strengthen connections—to nature, to place, and to one another—while helping Chollas Creekside Park thrive for generations to come.
