About this Event
The beautiful spring came; and when Nature resumes her loveliness, the human soul is apt to revive also. ~ Harriet Ann Jacobs
Feeling overwhelmed or in need of a reset? You’re not alone—stress and anxiety affect millions each year. Step away from the noise and join Sandy for a restorative journey into nature.
This guided experience is inspired by “shinrin-yoku,” the Japanese art of forest bathing. Through mindful use of your senses, you’ll slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the natural world. Along the way, you may experience benefits like reduced stress, improved mood, better sleep, and a strengthened immune system.
Trees themselves play a role in your wellness—releasing phytoncides, natural compounds that support your body’s ability to fight illness and promote healing.
As we celebrate Earth Day, you’ll explore the beauty and diversity of Bob Jones Nature Preserve. The experience begins with gentle movement and grounding practices, followed by a guided meditation and opportunities to connect with nature in meaningful ways. We’ll end our time together with tea and shared reflections.
Plan for about two hours of peaceful exploration. You’ll walk roughly one mile and spend time seated on the ground. Mats are available, or you’re welcome to bring your favorite cushion for comfort.
