The City of Greensboro Office of Sustainability and Resilience (OSR) and its City and community partners will celebrate Earth Day with a festival at Keeley Park, 1-4 pm, Saturday, April 20. Visitor parking is available at the sprayground parking lot, 4110 Keeley Rd. A shuttle will take visitors to the festival grounds.
This free, all ages event will feature environmental workshops, activities from 40+ community organizations, the 2024 Live Green Awards, the wild animals of the ECO Bus, a native plant giveaway, and Khrissy’s Kitchen, Hot Diggity Dog, Taco Bros, and The Southern Noodle food trucks. Complete an Earth Day Bingo card to receive an Earth Day T-shirt from the OSR at the event.
Workshop & Event Schedule
All workshops will be held at the picnic shelter next to the community garden. The Live Green Award Ceremony will take place on the main stage, near the community booths.
• 1-3 pm – Short-toothed mountain mint plant giveaway. Must register in advance at www.greensboro-nc.gov/earthday. One plant per household.
• 1:10 pm - Dos and Don’ts of Recycling Right
• 1:30 pm - The Quick and Dirty on Composting: A Beginner's Guide
• 2 pm - Tree Planting Demo
• 2:15 pm – Live Green Awards Ceremony
• 2:30 pm - Sustainable Periods: Q&A and Menstrual Product Giveaway
• 3 pm - Stormwater 101
• 3:30 pm - Water Conservation Tips and Tricks
