Earth Day Campus Ceremonial Tree Planting

Location: Behind Hamilton Hall, McMaster University

• 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM: Drop-in planting
  Join us anytime between these hours to participate in the planting of native species, contributing to the greening of our campus and the local ecosystem.
• 12:15 PM - 12:45 PM: White Pines Ceremony and Opening Remarks
  A highlight of the event, the White Pines Ceremony will feature opening remarks from esteemed members of our community and the traditional planting of White Pines, symbolizing peace and sustainability.
• After 12:30 PM: Pizza Celebration
  Following the ceremony, stay with us for an outdoor pizza party, a perfect opportunity to mingle, reflect on the day's activities, and discuss how we can continue to make a positive impact on our environment.

This event is open to all—community members, students, faculty, and staff of McMaster University. Whether you're deeply passionate about environmental issues or looking to learn more about how you can contribute to sustainability efforts, we welcome you to join us in this special Earth Day celebration.

This event is proudly supported by Nature at McMaster and the McMaster Traditional Ecological Knowledge Committee, showcasing our shared commitment to nurturing and preserving the natural world through community engagement and ecological awareness.

Admission is free, but registration is required to ensure we have enough supplies and pizza for everyone. Please RSVP as soon as possible.

We are providing tools and gloves, as well as pizza and a sanitation station. Please bring your refilable waterbottle, sturdy boots (if you can) and weather appropriate outerwear. The ceremonial planting will be less "hands on" to accomodate our sudents, staff and faculty that are on their lunch so there is no significant need to dress specifically for this event.
