Earth & Spirit Talks

For the evening, Earth in Sky becomes a little tavern of tea and tales: a cozy stopping place where travellers gather over a cup, exchange stories, wonder aloud and share what they’ve been noticing in the living world.

Earth & Spirit Talks is a monthly gathering for curious conversations about spirituality, animism, mystery and our relationship with the living world.

No particular spiritual beliefs required. Just curiosity.

Each gathering begins with a short talk exploring a different theme or question at the meeting place of earth, spirit and everyday life.

We might wander into dreams, intuition, ancestors, ritual, synchronicity, consciousness, death and grief, creativity, encounters with nature, spiritual experiences and other ways of knowing and relating.

Some evenings are led by Chauntell Dietrich / D'Yana Waroway, Registered Social Worker and Animist Minister. Other months, special guests bring their own knowledge, stories and perspectives to the tavern.

Then the conversation opens.

Ask a question. Share a story. Offer another perspective. Wonder aloud. Or simply sit back with your tea and listen.

And when the formal gathering ends, the tea tavern stays open a little longer. Stay for tea, meet someone new or continue a conversation that isn't quite finished yet.

Human beings have always gathered to make sense of things we don't entirely understand.

But there aren't many places in everyday life to talk openly about spiritual questions, unusual experiences, our relationship with the Earth, or the deeper and stranger parts of being alive.

Earth & Spirit Talks creates somewhere for those conversations to happen.

A place where belief and uncertainty can sit at the same table. Where experiences don't need to be immediately explained, proven or dismissed. And where we can practise meeting the mysteries of life with curiosity, humility and attention.

At the heart of these gatherings is a simple possibility:

The Earth and Spirit are speaking. What happens when we learn to listen?

If cost is the only thing keeping you from joining us, please reach out. A limited number of supported spaces are available. Please reach out for support with this.

You don't need to identify as an animist, follow a particular spiritual path or arrive with firm beliefs about anything we discuss.

Belief, uncertainty, curiosity and respectful disagreement can sit at the same table.

You're welcome to participate in the conversation, but you're equally welcome to drink your tea and listen.

Earth in Sky welcomes different identities, abilities, neurotypes, spiritual traditions and ways of being. We ask everyone to approach what others share with curiosity and respect.
