Trumpeter Eamon McNelis (The Big Idiot Club, Bopstretch, Jazz Party), no stranger to uptown audiences presents an evening of contemporary jazz standards along with a talented new voice on Melbourne's jazz scene, saxophonist "Papa" Joe Roberts, late of Brisbane, QLD.
Playing a choice selection of repertoire from the likes of Randy Weston, and Milt Jackson and a few modern Australian standards from Alistair Spence, and Eugene Ball.
Eamon & Papa Joe spent 4 months touring as the house band with Wesley Enoch's musical The Sunshine Club, honing their musical chemistry night after night in towns all around Australia.
Papa Joe Roberts(Chukale, Kerbside Collection, Safetydance), likely a complete stranger to uptown audiences, is a baritone specialist originally from Brisbane, QLD. He’s had an extensive and varied career in music but is probably best known for his woodwind work on Bluey and Gardening Australia Junior.
