Starting in January 7, 2027, ground school classes will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 9 pm covering all of the topics on a typical FAA private pilot written examination. Upon completion of the course, you'll be signed off to take the private or sport pilot examination.
This class will focus on the knowledge needed to pass the FAA written exam for a Private Pilot License (PPL), and also identify those areas not needed to pass the Sport Pilot knowledge test. The primary textbook will be the FAA Pilot’s Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge and the ASA (Aviation Supplies and Academics) Private Pilot Test Prep. It is also recommended that students have access to the FAA FAR/AIM and the FAA Flying Handbook, both available online at no cost.
