Save the date for E Pluribus Unum! Open Thursday, June 5- August 20, 2025. This exhibition features over 800 portraits taken by artists Matthew Chase-Daniel and Jerry Wellman during their 2024 journey across South-Central and South-Western New Mexico in Axle’s solar-powered mobile gallery. Visitors to the mobile studio sat for portraits while holding objects of personal significance, contributing to a growing visual tapestry that celebrates both individual identity and shared community. The UAM exhibition presents this powerful culmination of Axle’s six-part statewide project, showcasing the complete set of portraits, images from the road, a life-size photo of the mobile studio, and the project's final composite image, which layers all 800 faces into a single unified form.
