The 2026 Dún Laoghaire Organ Concert Series welcomes back distinguished Irish organist Gerard Gillen, founder of the festival and one of Ireland’s most celebrated organists.
Titular organist emeritus of St Mary’s Cathedral, Dublin, and professor emeritus of music at Maynooth University, Gerard Gillen has performed over 1,000 recitals across four continents and appeared at many of the world’s leading organ venues. He commissioned the Rieger organ at St Michael’s Church and gave one of its inaugural recitals in 1974, returning to perform here regularly ever since.
