Celebrate the new exhibit Arte de Inspiración: Dia de los Muertos 2024 at the California Museum’s annual Día de los Muertos Fiesta on Sat., Oct. 12!
Highlights include:

- Mercado de los Muertos featuring pop up shops from and other local artists and artisans (see FAQs below for vendor application information)
- Hands-on activities for kids suitable for ages 3 & up
- Special group photo for costumed guests that will be shared on the Museum's social media. Sorry, no contest this year.

Tickets: $5.00 Early Bird (on sale starting at 10:00 am on Aug. 1); $10.00 advance (plus Eventbrite processing fee) through 5:00 pm on Fri., Oct. 11 or until sold out.
Save time in line by purchasing advance food and drink tickets as an add-on to event tickets through 2 pm Thurs., Oct. 10. Food and drink tickets also can be purchased at the event starting at 5 pm on Sat., Oct. 12, payable by cash, debit and credit card.

FAQs
$5 EARLY BIRD TICKETS:
- On sale starting at 10:00 am on Aug. 1
- Limited to 150 maximum.
$10 ADVANCE TICKETS:
- On sale through 5:00 pm on Oct. 11 or until sold out.
- Limited to 750 maximum.
- Advance tickets are required as this event will sell out.
MUSEUM MEMBER TICKETS:
- Individual, Traveler, and Explorer members get up to two free tickets per membership.* To claim your free tickets, contact the membership department at [email protected] or at (916) 651-0935.
- If you are not currently a member but would like to sign up, please visit our membership page or email us at [email protected].
*Two free tickets per membership; additional cardholders do not receive additional free tickets. Offer good while supplies last.
VIP TERRACE TICKETS (*New offering this year!):
- View the festivities from the courtyard terrace, grab a drink at the exclusive terrace bar, and access comfortable dining seating in the Gold Rush Grille.
- A limited number of VIP terrace tickets go on sale Aug. 1. Details & pricing coming soon!
DOOR TICKETS:
- Sorry, no tickets will be available at the door. Attendance is by advance registration only.

EVENT ENTRY:
- Check-in starts at 5:00 pm on October 12, and event entry starts at 6:00 pm. Ticket holders may collect admission wristbands & pre-purchased food, drink & workshop tickets, to bypass the lines when doors open at 6:00 p.m.
- Food & drink tickets will also be available for purchase starting at 5:00 pm and are payable with cash, debit and credit card.
- Doors open at 6:00 pm.
- Please bring a printed copy of your ticket OR a digital ticket displayed on a mobile device (cell phone or tablet) to expedite entry.
- Attendees without printed or digital ticket may experience delay in entry and be asked to wait while purchase is verified.
- Please keep your digital or printed ticket with you throughout event if you need to leave for any reason.
- No large bags. All bags subject to security check.
- Guests purchasing tickets for alcoholic beverages or collecting pre-purchased alcohol tickets must be 21 years of age or older with valid ID.
- No outside food or drinks may be brought into the facility during the event.
CHILDREN:
- All ages are welcome, but every guest must have their own ticket. Children age 2 and under must have their own free ticket. Children age 3 and up must have their own paid ticket.
- Strollers permitted but subject to security check.
- Free hands-on activities for kids ages 3+ will be available.
PHOTOGRAPHY & MEDIA:
- Guests permitted to bring and use non-flash, consumer grade still cameras for personal use only.
- Commercial and/or professional photography and videography strictly prohibited.
- Requests for media credentials may be requested through 5:00 pm on Thurs., Oct. 10 by emailing [email protected].
SUGAR SKULL WORKSHOPS:
- Two sessions are available to event ticket-holders for a materials fee of $25.
- Limited to a maximum of 35 participants per session.
- Held in two sessions at 6:30 and 7:30 pm.
- Advance workshop tickets provided upon event check-in on Oct. 12.
- If not sold out, workshop tickets will be available for purchase on site.
- Appropriate for ages 5 & older.
FOOD & DRINK TICKETS:
- Advance food & drink ticket purchases strongly recommended to avoid long lines at event.
- Food & drink tickets may be added to advance ticket purchases in the “Additional Items” section following name and email address fields on the ticket checkout page. Options and pricing will be listed here Aug. 1.
- Food & drink tickets also can be purchased at the event and are payable by cash, debit and credit card.
- Bottled water and snack items (chips, candy, cookies) will be available for purchase at the Museum Store pop-up in the courtyard.
REFUNDS:
- Tickets may be refunded, minus Eventbrite fees, until 5:00 pm on Oct. 11 by requesting a refund through an Eventbrite account.
- Sorry, no refunds provided after 5:00 pm on Fri., Oct. 11.
PARKING & DIRECTIONS:
- The Bonderson Garage (Lot 24) directly across the street from the Museum on the corner of 10th & O Streets offers a $3 flat rate (now accepts credit card in addition to cash) for those arriving after 5:00 pm. Garage closes at 10:30 p.m. Cars remaining in the garage after 10:30 p.m. cannot be retrieved until Monday.
- Metered street parking is available around the Museum. Please visit City of Sacramento Parking Services for more information.
- Bike parking is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

ATMs:
- Golden 1 Credit Union ATM located at 1120 N St (between 11th & 12th on N).
MERCADO DE LOS MUERTOS:
- Applications from local or regional vendors to sell hand-made and/or unique art, crafts and gift items at the event will be accepted through Sat., August 31.
- Booth space is limited with priority given to local and regional artists and artisans.
- Retail stores and corporate businesses will not be accepted.
