Westie Clothing & Resource Exchange
This DYOS tradition involves community members bringing along their gently-loved and no-longer-used dance shoes, danceable clothing, and even small accessories that one might find in a dance bag (shoe brush, reusable water bottle, etc.). Everyone in attendance can look through and see if there’s anything they’d like to take. It’s actually pretty cool to see previously under-utilized clothing/items getting a second life in the community. 🙂
You’re also welcome to bring little artistic creations you’ve made and are ready to part with! Maybe a keychain or a work of art from that wine & paint night. 🎨
Note: Please take any of your belongings that haven’t been picked up by other community members with you when you leave!

L2: Beyond the Basics

For those who have attended at least one introductory level course at DYOS or another studio/event.
Learn beginner+ and intermediate patterns with a focus on repetition and developing comfort with each pattern.
8:05-8:35 pm
L3: Skills & Drills
🏠🔦 “Spotlight Ballroom”
This class will introduce you to movement, connection, and rhythm theories, skills, and methods. It will be a time to focus on skills via drills. This class will have less music and actual dancing than the average dance class, but will develop awareness and intention in your approach to WCS!
Pre-Requisite of L2 Patterns:
--> Tuck Turn (sugar and/or passing)
--> Spinning Side Pass (inside roll and/or free spin)
--> Starter Step
--> 8-Count Whip
8:40-9:10 pm
L4: Artistic Application
🏠🔦 “Spotlight Ballroom”
Learn the skills for improvised, partnered musical expression with 2-3 applications of L3 Class material. Focus will be responding to the music and your partner!
This class will help you cultivate those magical "How can this dance be improvised??" moments.
Pre-Requisite:
--> General comfort navigating social dances

L1: WCS Foundations

For those who are brand new to West Coast Swing or developing a basic pattern vocabulary. No partner or experience required!
