Dynamic Strings: Inside the Quartet
A creative afternoon exploring the intimacy and excitement of string quartet playing. Using a selection of contrasting quartet repertoire, we’ll discover how four individual musical voices fit together — when to lead, when to support, and how listening and responding can transform the sound.
We’ll work in depth on phrasing, balance, colour and communication, with opportunities to swap parts and experience the music from different perspectives.
As always, Dynamic Strings is about exploration rather than perfection. There’s no pressure to arrive fully prepared — just come ready to play, listen, experiment and enjoy making music with others.
The emphasis is on curiosity, creativity and enjoyment, with plenty of opportunity to try things out and develop confidence within a supportive environment.
