Dynamic Strings - Dance, Folk and Fire
About this Event
Dynamic Strings - Dance, Folk and Fire
This session will focus on music inspired by dance and folk traditions, looking at how rhythm creates momentum, how articulation shapes character, and how an ensemble can move and breathe together.
Rather than rushing through lots of music, we’ll take time to explore how the pieces work, what makes them dance, and how a group of players can create something greater than the sum of its parts.
As always, the atmosphere is relaxed, supportive and collaborative. There is no pressure to be perfectly prepared, no auditions, and no expectation of flawless playing. The aim is to enjoy making music together, develop ensemble skills, and leave feeling inspired and energised.
Suitable for:
• Good amateur string players
• Returning musicians
• Players who enjoy working in detail and listening closely within an ensemble
