The everlasting interplay between aliveness and stability
A workshop with Ulli Wittemann
In both our lives and our dances, we seek a nourishing balance between safety and freedom—between grounding stability and the sensation of feeling fully alive. To create this balance, we need both a reliable structure and the capacity to respond spontaneously to the ever-changing world around us. A strong connection to the floor, to our own body structure, and to the space around us is as essential as mobility and adaptability.
In this workshop, we will practice responding to new and unexpected situations not with hesitation or overthinking, but with creativity and joy—from a state of deep presence and embodied listening. Through specific exercises, we will cultivate these qualities, explore acrobatic skills, and play together. Be ready for new pathways, for being upside down, for learning new tools to support and to fly.
Aliveness and joy will be on the menu, alongside moments of discovery in new positions around other bodies—expanding your vocabulary in movement and beyond.
