ABOUT THE READERS
Cindy Pham is a queer Vietnamese-American author of instant #1 New York Times, USA Today, and Indie Bestseller The Secret World of Briar Rose. Based in New York City, she works as a full-time designer while moonlighting as a fiction writer and content creator. Her YouTube channel, Read With Cindy, has amassed over half a million subscribers and focuses on books, movie reactions, and candid commentary. You can follow her across socials on @readwithcindy.
Trinity Nguyen is a bestselling and award-nominated author. She was born in Việt Nam and raised in Little Saigon, California, and learned English by reading too many young adult novels and never turning off closed captioning. Trinity currently lives in Los Angeles with her cats and the succulents from her mom’s garden. You can find Trinity on social media as @thetrinitytran on Instagram and Twitter, except for TikTok @eggtarts (because she refuses to retire the username), and otherwise trinity-nguyen.com.
ABOUT THE MODERATOR
Aimee Phan is the author of two books, We Should Never Meet: Stories and The Reeducation of Cherry Truong. She has a young adult duology, The Lost Queen, released in May 2025 from Penguin/Putnam. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, Time, USA Today and CNN. She has received residencies from the MacDowell Colony, Hedgebrook, Djerassi and the Bellagio Center. She has received fellowships and awards from the National Endowment of the Arts and the Money for Women/Barbara Deming Memorial Fund.

For over 20 years, DVAN has supported diasporic writers and artists through community events, writing residencies, and publishing opportunities, ensuring their perspectives reshape and expand the broader cultural narrative.
ABOUT THE DVANxSFPL READING SERIES
A collaboration between DVAN and the San Francisco Public Library, this quarterly reading series has spotlighted Vietnamese and Southeast Asian diasporic writers and poets since 2024. Featuring both established and emerging voices, this program celebrates cultural heritage through powerful works that explore personal narratives, historical contexts, and the diverse identities shaping Southeast Asian artists today.
