Frontier
Creation by Crystal Pite
Crystal Pite is one of the most influential and popular choreographers of our time. In Dusk to Dawn, we encounter her successful work Frontier in a new guise. Frontier gazes towards a dark and eerie universe. Solos, duets and large ensemble scenes, visible and invisible, shifting like shadows in a borderland between the known and the unknown. The embrace of darkness makes the impossible possible.
The original version was created for the Nederlands Dans Theater in 2008.

Creation
By Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber
Frontier is combined with a world premiere by Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber, accompanied live by the Göteborg Opera Orchestra. The two have previously created works for the Paris Opera and the Royal Danish Ballet. Together with GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, they set out to depict the relentless force that makes people fight to keep hope alive despite their own fragility. In a dance between vulnerability and strength, people do everything they can to avoid becoming numb and remain open to life.
