Duo Ekeš return for their most exciting concert yet in London at the St Pancras Clock Tower!
Highly in demand as a violin and piano duo, Ezo Sarici and Deniz Cengiz return to London this coming January for a concert in a new and unexpected location! Presenting a exciting, sensitive and intimate program of new repertoire, the duo will embark on demanding works by Faure, Prokofiev, Schoenfield and Beethoven.
Duo Ekeš, compromising of violinist Ezo Sarici and pianist Deniz Cengiz, has established itself as a distinctive voice in the contemporary chamber music scene. Their performances have taken them across Europe, including appearances at Duke’s Hall in London, the Austrian Consulate in Istanbul, and Gregynog Hall in Wales, where they maintain an ongoing artistic relationship as regular performers and festival directors. Most recently, they were named finalists at the 22nd Kiejstut Bacewicz International Chamber Music Competition in Poland, earning international recognition for their collaborative artistry.
The duo’s repertoire reflects a commitment to underrepresented music, with a particular focus on Turkish composers and the hidden gems of the 20th-century violin-piano repertoire. These works have featured prominently in concert tours across the UK and Turkey, where their performances have been met with critical acclaim for both programming and execution.
In 2025, Sarici and Cengiz co-founded the Pererinion Ysbrydol Festival Academy (PYFA) at Gregynog Hall, creating a platform for young musicians to explore chamber music with historical and cultural context, while engaging with issues of accessibility and inclusivity in music-making. The inaugural festival attracted students from around the globe and presented a faculty including Roman Simovic, Milena Simovic, David Cohen, and Boris Kusnezow, establishing PYFA as a vibrant hub for education, performance, and mentorship.
The 2025/26 season marks several career milestones for Duo Ekeš, including their Austrian debut, a third appearance at the Austrian Consulate in Istanbul, and multiple UK performances, alongside a recording project with Wigmore Hall’s Composer in Residence, Huw Watkins, featuring his works for violin and piano alongside other contemporary compositions.
