TOMMY DANGER (MUNGOS HI FI )
A DJ that needs no introduction. Main producer powerhouse behind Mungo’s Hi Fi for the last 20 years or so. DJ extraordinaire and local legend. He won’t be under the Mungo’s guise for this set which means Tommy will be covering unheard ground from all things Bass and Reggae. Alongside Aziza Jay & Wends on the mic — this will go off
DJ DAKEILI
Global bass selectress — co-member of Femme45 — was recently playing alongside the incredible Principe DJs! DJ Dakeili always brings full fire to the dance. Big booty shaking bassy tunes - nestled between soulful, Global sounds. On a soundsystem, with 2 MCs in the place - this is gunna b special. Don’t miss.
DJ VARDI X KINSMAN
Duende x Decades of Dub founders will be bringing the heat on the decks with a blend of Global bass flavours, Reggae & Garage!
OBIA (LIVE)
RAW LIVE AFRO CARRIBE DANCE
Obia tells tales from the Caribbean and their people, centring around degradation of the spirit, resilience and re-emergence of being, amidst seas of spiritual torment, creation, healing and powerfully daring conceptualisations of futures unknown.
In the darkest of soils, the most potent of herbs take root. The writing began on Obia’s island home of Barbados, mapping some of the connections between the afro-diasporas’ musics, a journey through some of the vast Caribbean and afro-Latin “new world sounds”.
Once paths converged between dedicated conguero and afro-latin specialist Vardi and a full band in Glasgow, the beast was born and continues to grow.
Obia is a broad term for African diasporic religious, spellcasting, and healing traditions found primarily in the former British West Indies.
MCS - AZIZA JAY & WENDS
We’re so gassed to welcome these two amazing MCs to the dance on the 21st. Aziza is well known for her work with Mungo’s Hi Fi & also as the front women of wicked Jazz dance band Nubyian Twist.
Wends is a local powerhouse MC who also recently toured with Mungo’s Hi Fi, Sinai Soundsystem, Elektrical Soundsystem, Hometown Promotion and more ! Both MCs are set to light up the dance
All powered by DUENDE SOUNDSYSTEM
