Quack Quack!Head over to Long Lake Park for Nova Scotia’s most unique “regatta”.
Captain and crew construct a boat made of just TWO things: cardboard and duct tape (!) and race to a buoy and back. Listen as Ian Robinson voice of the Mooseheads and Hot Country 103.5 host calls the races!
Why do they do this? It’s all in support of the non-for-profit volunteer-run Long Lake Park Association. These dedicated volunteers ensure the 6km of Lakeview and Waterfront Trails are cared for making the park accessible for walkers runners strollers wheelchairs bikers and four-legged friends.
Yes – some of these boats DO float. And some…well…they “quack” under pressure and qualify for the Titanic Award for best sinking. It’s great fun for the whole family! Come and watch or – better yet – get your own crew together and give it a go! We’ve got construction tips and tricks on our website.
