Yarra Sound invites VIXEN SOUND (Scotland) & Selectress Natty (MTL)
For the 7th edition of the Dubwise Meeting, Yarra Sound presents a special Sistren Edition, putting women at the forefront of Reggae Music and Sound System culture ✊
For the first time in Canada, we welcome VIXEN SOUND from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
Vixen Sound is a Scottish dub, reggae and dancehall selector & MC, presenting the freshest tunes alongside rarities and exclusives with her trademark, full-force positive energy.
Cutting her teeth in dub by touring with, and managing club nights and record labels for, two of the UK’s most revered next-generation soundsystems (Sinai Sound and Mungo’s HiFi), Vixen now owns & operates her own soundsystem; the first and only fully female-powered sound in Scotland.
Vixen’s renowned selections have seen her DJ across the world from India to New York at events such as Dubquake, Dubcamp, Rototom, Fusion Festival, Goa Sunsplash, Teachings in Dub, Boomtown, Glastonbury, International Dub Gathering, & many more beyond.
Vixen also collaborates with other dub artists to lend her sweet voice and gut-punchingly raw lyricism to tracks; and is set to unleash her own original productions into the world very soon.
Joining her is Selectress Natty (MTL), representing the local scene with deep roots selections and conscious vibrations.
Expect a full night of Roots, Dub & Steppers, powered by Yarra Sound System.🫡

Pour la 7e édition du Dubwise Meeting, Yarra Sound propose une Sistren Edition, mettant les femmes à l’honneur dans la musique Reggae et la culture Sound System! ✊
Pour la première fois au Canada, nous accueillons VIXEN SOUND en provenance d’Écosse 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
Vixen Sound est une selectress et MC écossaise de dub, reggae et dancehall, proposant les morceaux les plus récents aux côtés de raretés et d’exclusivités, avec son énergie positive caractéristique, intense et sans compromis.
Elle a fait ses armes dans le dub en tournant avec, et en gérant des soirées ainsi que des labels pour, deux des sound systems nouvelle génération les plus respectés du Royaume-Uni (Sinai Sound et Mungo’s HiFi). Vixen possède aujourd’hui et exploite son propre sound system, le premier et le seul en Écosse entièrement porté par des femmes.
Les sélections reconnues de Vixen l’ont amenée à jouer à travers le monde, de l’Inde à New York, lors d’événements tels que Dubquake, Dubcamp, Rototom, Fusion Festival, Goa Sunsplash, Teachings in Dub, Boomtown, Glastonbury, International Dub Gathering, et bien d’autres encore.
Vixen collabore également avec d’autres artistes dub, prêtant sa voix douce et son écriture à la fois brute et percutante à différents morceaux, et s’apprête à dévoiler très prochainement ses propres productions originales.
À ses côtés, Selectress Natty (MTL) représentera la scène locale avec des sélections roots et conscientes.
Une soirée de Roots, Reggae, Dub & Steppers, sonorisée par le Yarra Sound System.
Ce n’est pas juste une soirée.
C’est Sound System Culture!
