Dubdee presents: Dub Club @ Canvas Dundee.
It's a taproom takeover - remoooove ya! -
The Dubdee team will provide the music all night long whilst 71 brewery provide the beers, and it's pouring perfection straight from the source! Nestled in a charming red brick hideaway on Ure Street, CANVAS is where bold brews meet good vibes.
But it's more than just a taproom - CANVAS is a space for creativity and community.
Everyone is welcome, it is free entry from seven until midnight. You can expect to hear a selection of reggae from across the spectrum so get ready for some early ska, rub a dub, a whole load of roots reggae, dancehall & lovers rocks, and also more contemporary dub and modern steppers! There's something for everyone and we have it covered on the turntable. Alongside local selectors & DJ's we have MC's who will be chanting on the mic and keeping the vibes Up Up UP!
From our first event when Mighty Oak Sound System brought six scoops to Dundee we have grown into a team of creatives brought together by the music we know & love. We want to share this and build upon the strong community. Dubdee has continued to host events across Tayside including a Dub Club with Nga Han from Jamaica and sound system events in town halls in & around the area.
It's all about the music and each other; no time or tolerance for divisions, this or that and the isms & schisms... Music is a mission & not a competition! We mean it when we say One Love!
For this event we will be using Canvas's in house PA and running the selection in a soundsystem style so tell a friend to tell a friend, make it a date, arrive early & stay late, and be part of the growing Dub Club.
