Cette activité explore l’univers de l’art vidéo à l’international, avec un focus sur le marché et la collection. Comment une œuvre vidéo est‑elle choisie, promue et acquise par les galeries, les institutions ou les festivals ? C’est l’occasion de démystifier les dynamiques du marché, les stratégies de diffusion et les opportunités de collection. On abordera aussi des questions concrètes pour les artistes : comment faire entrer leur film dans une grande galerie ? Comment faire vivre un film d’artiste après sa première présentation en festival ? Un rendez‑vous pour comprendre les coulisses de l’art vidéo contemporain et découvrir comment transformer leurs œuvres en projets vivants et visibles à l’international.

This activity explores the world of video art internationally, with a focus on the market and collecting. How is a video work selected, promoted, and acquired by galleries, institutions, or festivals? It’s an opportunity to demystify market dynamics, distribution strategies, and collecting opportunities. Practical questions for artists will also be addressed: how can they get their work into a major gallery? How can an artist’s film continue to live after its first festival screening? This session offers insight into the behind-the-scenes of contemporary video art and shows how to transform works into living, visible projects on an international scale.
With local and international guests: Gavin Humphries (Executive Director, NOWNESS, London), Valentine Umansky (International Art Curator, TATE MODERN, London), Chema González Martínez (Head of Cinema and New Media, Museo Reina Sofía, Madrid), and Dominique Sirois-Rouleau (Executive Director of MOMENTA Biennale d’art contemporain, Montreal).
