MARIE–LOUISE MARTIN
Drypoint printmaking workshop with Marie-Louise Martin
13th & 14th June – 10am to 4pm daily
Cost: €180
Limit of participants: 7
This workshop is an introduction to the fascinating world of printmaking, with a technique that hasn’t changed since the time of Dürer and Rembrandt.
During the workshop, participants will learn how to make a drypoint print, using various specialist tools, including scribes, roulettes and other incising tools, and a tabletop etching press; additionally, the class will experiment with colour printing.
Being a small group ensures that everyone will be guided through each stage of the process. The aim of the course is to produce a number of finished original drypoint prints. All materials – paper, inks, acetate drypoint sheets, and materials for inking up – will be supplied. No printmaking experience is needed; all participants should bring along an apron, some old clothes (as it can be a messy business), some drawings or images to work from (no larger than 30 x 20 cm), and a sense of curiosity!
There will be a 30 minute break for lunch, and clean down time allocated to both sessions.
Be sure to register your participation with the office early – to avoid the disappointment of missing out.
