Join musician Perry Smith as he guides you through a rhythmic adventure, exploring polyrhythms (two or more rhythm patterns being played at the same time) from Africa to the Middle East. Discover how these different layers of rhythm create a beautiful symphony of sound that is fun, energizing and grounding. All levels are welcome. Drums are provided, but feel free to bring your own!A note from Perry:
I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Chuck Davis and the African American dance ensemble for three years during which time I learned many sets of polyrhythms. We will explore as many of these as we can in this easy and fun workshop that is suited for all abilities. I specialize in beginner to intermediate workshops and perform hand percussion professionally.
