Hey Everyone,I'm thrilled to announce that we'll be hosting winter drum circles every couple of weeks in 2025-26!
What's more, we'll be back at a place we used to play almost 20 years ago - the fabulous DANCE CAVE (529 Bloor St., upstairs from Lee's Palace, steps from Bathurst subway station). Which reminds me, this is our 20th ANNIVERSARY as Drummers in Exile! Can you believe it?
The Dance Cave will be a big step up from our previous location. Sorry about that room, it was really not a great place to play. Dance Cave will be a much better experience.
If you're new to group drumming or even a seasoned drummer, our program includes a one-hour class/workshop to help you get started or learn some new things. The class begins at 7:30, and the main circle begins at 8:30. Drum class courtesy of Tim Gentle of Ripple Rhythm!
Also, big thanks to Tim for getting the ball rolling (at high speed!) on the quest to find a suitable location for the circle. Thanks to Tim, we had a host of options to choose from, with the Dance Cave coming out on top. And special thanks to Denholm from the Dance Cave, who brokered a super special deal for us.
Unfortunately though, all of the venues we looked at came with a hefty price tag, so the price of admission will have to go up to $10 to give us a chance of breaking even. However, that price may eventually go down a little, if attendance is strong.
There will be a few dozen chairs at the Dance Cave, but you may wish to bring your own to guarantee yourself a place to sit.

All are welcome, no experience necessary.
Bring your own drum/percussion/kitchen utensils/ bells and whistles/ singing voices/ clapping hands/ dancing feet/ listening ears – and portable chair(s).

We want everyone to enjoy as much freedom and fun as possible, and don't really have a lot of rules. That said,
- Please be mindful of your volume. And play a little sparsely so that all can be heard. Listen to the whole group!
- Photographers/videographers, not everyone wants to be in your shots, especially if you are posting them online. Please be respectful. Also, please avoid using flash or other bright lighting.
- Please be respectful of all attending, and of the surrounding neighbourhood.
