About this Event
The Clearwater Swimmers, on tour across the northeast & midwest, is the primary songwriting vehicle for Sumner Bright, a multi-instrumentalist based in NYC and Portland, ME. Joined by Timothy Graff on drums, Sander Casale on lead guitar, and Connor Kennedy on bass, the group takes the most-often acoustic, at-home demos of Bright and shifts them into wading, contemplative alternative rock. Split between NYC, ME, NH, and MA, when they come together, the group draws comparisons to Neil Young’s “On The Beach” era, Acetone, and other folk rock moguls from the 90s and early 2000s such as Jason Molina. Their debut, self-titled album, recorded in May of 2024 with Bradford Krieger at Big Nice Studio in Lincoln, RI, arrived in October to warm and widespread acclaim. You can access their IG via @theclearwaterswimmers and their Bandcamp, at https://theclearwaterswimmers.bandcamp.com
Sheepskin, a Burlington, VT based alt-folk outfit, released their debut album Pirate Ship Playground in September of 2024, showcasing their unique, hazy spin on alternative folk music, straddling lines of comfort, and unsettledness. The primary duo, Sam Tiesworth and Molly Meehan, pair their songwriting and wordsmithing to great effect in the album - often linking their voices to each feel like a seperate arm in a warm, long hug. They will be joining the initial leg of this tour, and continuing on down south for their own languid, moving journey.
Drug Country (members of Gnawing) is Richmond's self-described "simple songs from the south" - lo-fi, fuzzy crooning from a tired, thoughtful rocker.
Soft Catch is a 4-piece indie rock group from Richmond, offering up catchy balladry with an experimental flare.
