Drop-in Workshop: Charcoal Drawings Inspired by Jason Greig
Join us on Wednesday 18 November from 6pm - 8pm for our Jason Greig inspired drawing workshop! Peruse through our current show 'Jason Greig: Blood is Thicker' and spend the evening channelling your dark side through charcoal and ink with this free drop-in session.
In a twist on the classic survey, this landmark exhibition pairs Ōtautahi Christchurch artist Jason Greig’s darkly compelling works with gothic masterpieces by Goya, Redon and other nineteenth-century visionaries. Together, they reveal a dark lineage where printer’s ink flows like blood through art history’s veins. Greig is the romantic, old soul of Aotearoa New Zealand art, and his figurative monoprints and paintings are deeply immersed in literary, historical and mythical themes.
