We're so excited to have Terje Brevik leading our September drop-in workshop! ----- Workshop Description ------
The title says it all. But fun!
Join us for a playful workshop where you’ll learn everything you need to create improvised entertainment on the spot, using nothing but movies you’ve seen–or haven’t.
We’ll explore how easy it is to start somewhere, anywhere, and how to transform any idea into a spontaneous and engaging story, even when we’re completely lost!
This workshop offers an insightful and engaging approach to breaking down the creative process into manageable steps and finding joy in piecing them together in new ways.
That includes initiations, characters, object work, platform, narrative, edits, active listening, connecting with your partner, leading and following and genres, to mention a few things, as well as solo scenes, group scenes and everything in between.
This workshop will:
- Teach you everything you need to know about improv.
- Provide valuable insights into the importance of collaboration in the creative process.
- Help you embrace mistakes and not knowing everything with confidence.
- Make you a more confident improviser and supportive improv partner.
- Make improv less work and more fun!

----- About Terje Brevik -----
Terje Brevik is a professional teacher and performer of improvisational theater from Oslo, Norway.
He is the founder of Tøyen Impro, an improv school for everyone, and the Short Notice Improv Festival, a week long international festival complete with workshops, shows and a Big Day Out!
He comes with over 10 years of experience teaching and performing internationally in the USA, UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Latvia, Estonia, Russia, and Denmark.
Terje holds two Bachelor's degrees, one in Drama and Theater Communication, the other in Computer Engineering.
Terje has studied with Keith Johnstone, at the Annoyance and iO in Chicago, the Pack Theater in Los Angeles, not to mention actively teaching since 2014.
