Drop-In Gelli Print Workshops Join us for a free drop-in gelli print workshop! Gelli prints are a fun form of mono printing using a gel plate, brayer and acrylics. Learn layering techniques to create fun and experimental prints.
Learn the basic techniques of gelli printing & experiment with various textures & imagery. These sessions run on a drop in basis. The average time to make prints usually last 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours and printing stations are on a first come first served basis. Dress to make a mess. The sessions are free & open to the public.
A family session geared for children and their loved ones is on Saturday April 27th from 12pm to 4pm. Youth must be accompanied by an adult.
Casa de Rosado is located west of the Walter French building, on the corner of Teel and Mt Hope. Parking is free and in the lot behind our building-DO NOT PARK AT BUDGET FLOORING. Served by the #18 CATA bus line. Wheelchair accessible.
Our gelli print sessions are made possible by the Barb Morris Fund. Barb Morris was a prolific print maker in Lansing that experimented in creating pieces exploring mask making traditions around the globe. Morris founded and collected in many galleries on Turner Street in Lansing: the 1984 Gallery, Two Doors Down and Otherwise Gallery. Morris encouraged artists of color and outsider artists often rejected from participating in other galleries to participate alongside experienced artists which increased exposure of their work.
Casa de Rosado Galeria and Cultural Center is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to the preservation, promotion and advancement of Michigan’s underserved Latinx, Chicanx, Afro Caribbean, and Indigenx community through visual and performance artists of our heritage through exhibits, cultural events and educational outreach. A member of the National Association of Latino Arts and Culture & the Arts Council of Greater Lansing.
