In this session learn the basics of where and how you can find funding for your artistic practice. Learn the essentials of grant writing along with resources for searching and structuring your grants. Starting with an abundance-centered mindset, we'll explore both ways to find and secure funding from traditional sources (foundations, state agencies and national organizations), as well as consider alternative ways of creating and tapping into resources already present in our community. This workshop will guide you in identifying opportunities that match your artistic goals, and in developing strong applications that clearly communicate a purpose, budget, outcomes, and evaluation plan.

Since 2020 “Driving Lessons” has taken a myriad of forms—from an online full curriculum class taught over the course of several weeks, to a topic-centric, one-off presentation by experts in their fields.

“Driving Lessons” is an ongoing professional development program for artists, which was developed by Wave Pool in conjunction with some amazing artists, creatives, and educators.
