About this Event
Your Voice Drives Change!
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is working with Valley Vision to host an in-person public workshop on Wednesday May 20th, 2026 from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM to hear from the community about their thoughts and ideas on clean vehicle regulations. Community input will help shape potential clean vehicle regulations that will continue to help the State and communities across California achieve clean air and climate goals.
Attendees will hear from CARB staff about potential regulations and information related to clean vehicle regulations, programs and incentives -- part of a new initiative to map out the next phase of light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicle programs called Drive Forward. There will be free food at the workshop! Please register for food and event planning purposes. If you have questions or special accommodations, please reach out to Kathy Saechou at [email protected].

Why This Matters:
In California, transportation is responsible for generating 40% of greenhouse gases and 60% of smog-forming pollutants, making this transition to cleaner vehicles and cleaner mobility options essential for reducing premature deaths, asthma, and cardivascular illnesses, especially in heavily burdened communities. In many of our communities, cars and trucks travel on busy corridors and freeways that run through our neighborhoods emitting pollution in the air we breathe.
California has made major progress on air quality, but its geography and persistent pollution challenges mean the work isn't done. We must continue cutting vehicle emissions to meet national air quality standards, fulfill state goals, and fight climate change improving the quality of life for everyone. Cleaner vehicles and mobility options will also save residents billions of dollars in gas, maintenance costs and healthcare costs as the state pushes for the cleanest, most affordable ways to travel (Source: CARB).
