About this Event

If you enjoy doodling and sketching and just want the chance to do some life drawing in a friendly relaxed atmosphere then come and check out our monthly class. The session will take place in our bar area so for those of you who are new to life drawing and maybe feeling a tad awkward or nervous having a complimentary glass of wine will help. And what could go better with wine and life drawing you ask? Cheese! Yes there will be cheese and crackers available during the break.

This class is for anyone 16 or over, whether you’re a regular at life drawing classes or you can barely hold a pencil, everyone is welcome. This is an untaught session to come and practise .

Please bring whichever materials you feel comfortable working with, from some charcoal to a biro, a small sketch pad to A3 sheets of paper. There will be a limited amount drawing board and materials available on a first come first serve basis.

This session is a chilled out place to have a go if you haven't drawn before and also a perfect opportunity for the more experienced artists to practise. You are encouraged to come from 6:15pm to chat and find a place. There is a 20 minute break in the middle to finish off the fromage and get your complimentary glass of wine. To make our model feel as comfortable as possible we would ask you to follow standard life drawing etiquette and talk quietly.

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements for this class?

The class is for people ages 16+.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

On street parking is free and unlimited. Public transport links are nearby, and the venue is easily accessible on foot from Liverpool City Centre.

How accessible is the venue?

The workshop is located on the ground floor which provides full accessibility to the premises including toilet provisions. We would advise wheelchair users to contact the workshop provider on the sale of the ticket to arrange a parking bay.

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Feel free to get in touch with the Make Liverpool office at 0151 601 8665 or email [email protected]

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

If you find that you cannot attend then you are welcome to pass your place on to a friend who may find it useful. Please let the organiser know if you need to do this. Alternatively tickets can be transferred to a future event up to 7 days before the event.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

A register will be taken at the workshop, it isn't necessary to print your ticket.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

Please bring along a print out of your ticket if the registration does not match the attendee, or contact [email protected] to have them change the ticket so it contains your name.

Can I get a refund for my ticket?

Refunds are available up to 7 days before the event.

Refunds will be offered in the event of the event being cancelled, alternative dates will be offered if appropriate.

If for any reason you find you are unable to attend then please get in touch and a refund can be offered up to 7 days before the workshop. After this date we can only offer a refund if your space is able to be filled.

This is because we pay our practitioners fair wages for their work- giving refunds on last minute cancellations would mean that practitioners would not be paid for the preparation they have put into their classes.

I have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been told to self isolate after being in contact with someone with COVID-19 can I get a refund?

We can refund your ticket or transfer your ticket to a future class/workshop if you let us know 7 or more days prior to the class or workshop.

We can refund your ticket up to 5 days before the event if you can provide evidence of a positive test result or instructions to self isolate if we manage to re-sell the ticket. We will do our best to do so, but cannot guarantee a refund.

We cannot refund your ticket in the 3 days prior to the event. You are welcome to pass your ticket on to a friend or family member but please let us know who the new ticket holder is in advance.

This is because we pay our practitioners fair wages for their work- giving refunds on last minute cancellations would mean that practitioners would not be paid for the preparation they have put into their classes.

Do I need to self isolate if someone who was in the same class tests positive for COVID-19?

No. Unless you have had close contact.

According to the government guidelines you only need to self isolate if you have come into “close contact” with someone. The environment we provide is covid secure, meaning that if you follow the rules you will not come into close contact with another participant.

Close contact, as defined by the guidance, is when:

You had face-to-face contact with someone, within one meter, including:

Being coughed on

Having skin-to-skin physical contact, or

Been within one metre for one minute or more

Or, you were within 2 meters of someone for 15 minutes or more

Wearing PPE does not mitigate the above factors.

Someone being behind a screen does not count as close contact.

If someone tests positive they must notify NHS Track and Trace, which will inform other people. Additionally we ask that anyone who tests positive lets us know, so we can keep other people well informed.

The final decision about self-isolating must come from you, and given all the information you will need to make an informed decision yourself.
