Set 1 - Wednesdays: Week 1 - 6th May; Week 2 - 13th May; Week 3 - 20th May; Week 4 - 27th May; Week 5 - 3rd June

This class uses the "Dressmaking - The Easy Guide" book by Helen Rhiannon, to guide you through the process of perfecting the fit of a pattern block, and then learning how to make adjustments to the block to make an almost limitless numbers of different dress styles, all crafted to fit you perfectly.

The book includes sleeve, bodice and skirt blocks which, over the first two weeks of the course, we will teach you how to use to create a muslin to fit. Then over the final three weeks these simple block patterns can be adapted to make a variety of different sleeves, necklines and skirts to create almost any style you choose.

The process can be quite involved and confusing to achieve on your own, so coming to the class means everyone can learn together as a group, and you will be guided every step of the way.

The book includes a great, size inclusive range of blocks, from a 34.5" or 87cm hip to a 77.5" or 197cm hip inclusive.

You will need to bring:

atleast 5m of pattern tracing paper along with 2 - 3m of fabric suitable for making a muslin or toile from (an old duvet cover can be great for this), along with your copy of the book. You are welcome to bring a packed lunch or pop out during the 30 minute lunch break.

Provided:

Sewing machines, cutting tools and a basic sewing kit will be included in the cost of the course.

There are two types of tickets available for the class, whereby you can either bring your own copy of the book along or purchase the book at a reduced price when booking for the class. However, you must own a copy of the book to be able to attend the class.

Please be aware :

If you book this class, you are booking on the 5 dates for the set listed above. If you cannot make one of the days we cannot transfer you onto alternate dates.
