Dred I Dread

This week at the Lake Harriet Bandshell we are hosting Dred I Dread. Dred I Dread is proudly based in Minneapolis but features musicians from Jamaica, New Orleans, Minnesota, and Türkiye, giving the band a truly international sound. The band is known not just for reggae rhythms, but for uplifting messages of love, unity, and social justice, often resonating deeply with underserved communities. Dred I Dread has released six full-length albums, each reflecting the band’s evolution while staying rooted in conscious reggae. Since 1892, Music in the Parks has provided residents and families opportunities to gather and enjoy local music throughout the summer. Since its inception thousands of free concerts have taken place. Concerts are weekly and vary from classic rock, hip hop, international, funk and many more genres of music.
