When it gets to dreamy landscapes in our region, there are not many places that could compete with Cappadocia. Countless centuries of wind and water have sculpted Cappadocia’s surrealistic landscape from the peaks of three volcanoes: Erciyes, Hasan and Melendiz Daglari. The original eruptions created a vast erosion basin, which marks an abrupt division between the fantasy landscapes of rocky Cappadocia and the green farmland around Kayseri. Ancient inhabitants of Cappadocia hollowed out the soft tufa (limestone) cones and cliffs to create cave dwellings that are still lived in today. This combination of minarets, cones spires, ‘’fairy chimneys’’ and rocky pinnacles in shades of pinks and russet brown soar are simply remarkable. The horses are the most popular way to visit the region of Cappadocia, which is translated as ‘’land of the beautiful horses’’.
In the Cemil valley, near Nustafapasa, the cones give way to tabular formations – table mountains – caused by the deep grooves made by rivers in the harder geological layers. Another important region lies northwest of the Melendiw mountain range – the valley of the Melendiw Suyu, or Ihlara Valley. The most individual feature of this region is the red canyon through which the river flows, probably the most beautiful of all the Cappadocian landscapes.
Those incredible topographies are best to see from the hot air balloons, which became a landmark and the star attractions of Turkey. We will float over the inhabited dreamscapes, explore the valleys on our feet and horse backs. Our home will be stone carved, cave – hotel, to round up our dreamy Eid holidays (Flinstones would say Yababadabadooo!!)

Early morning start with hot air ballooning, followed by breakfast.
Today we will encounter Cappadocia's almost Martian landscapes in the Dervent valley. We visit Pasabag’s “fairy chimneys”, where the voice of the wind harmonizes with songs of the fairies. From here we pause at Avanos Centre of terracotta art - a popular destination for its attractive old town with cobbled streets, views over the river and production of pottery. You will certainly entertain yourself by making your own clay pot. After lunch Goreme - open air museum and a heart of Cappadocia. Goreme is famous for wall painting, dating back to 10th century, describing the life of Jesus and monks.
