Dreamland Tulsa Foundation invites you to a journey through art, music, and cinema celebrating the work of Gordon Parks and the theme “ALL ROADS LEAD TO DREAMLAND”.
At 6:00 pm in Homeward to the Prairie I Come This one-night-only event begins with an art market including No Parking Studios, Black Moon, and McLain High School art students. Enjoy a unique DJ Art Walk with DJ Nonanme (Black Moon). Using silent disco headphones as you walk through Homeward to the Prairie I Come: Gordon Parks Photographs from the Beach Museum of Art, allowing for a deeply personal and immersive connection with the groundbreaking work of the legendary photographer and filmmaker.
At 7:00 pm in PJW auditorium, Dreamland founder, Steph Simon, will deliver an introduction and a short performance before a pre-film discussion, providing context for the film. The discussion will focus on themes to watch for in the film, the influence of Gordon Parks as a filmmaker, and the cultural impact of the Blaxploitation genre.
