What does it mean to dream? Explore it through nature, writing and drawing in this guided Parliament Hill workshop with artist Anna May
About this Event

Artist Run Nature Workshops
These workshops are curated by Daisy Green's artist-in-residence, Alan McFetridge. Each month, Alan invites a guest artist to lead a workshop that brings their practice into dialogue with the park, its rhythms, and its living landscape.

The programme welcomes both experienced artists and those beginning their creative journey. Participants are invited to slow down, observe carefully, and experience the park through movement, reflection, and making.

This month’s guest artist is Anna May - Dreaming with the Elements

What does it mean to dream? Is it a coincidence that we use the same word for the stories we travel through at night and the hopes we have for our future? What desires are living in our subconscious, waiting to be seen? What is holding us back, and is it ready to be let go?

How can nature and the elements - earth, water, fire, air - inspire, hold and amplify the dreams we have for ourselves and our communities?

We’ll explore these questions together through simple listening, gathering, writing and drawing activities. This is less a space to decide, declare or build, and more a space for rest, reflection, and the gentle planting of seeds.

Daisy Green has generously provided the space, and refreshments are included in the ticket. Proceeds from ticket sales go directly to the artist.

Artist Bio:

Anna May is a multidisciplinary artist, writer and facilitator based in London.

She is interested in how art can help us understand what it means to be human, and build fairer, kinder, more connected ways of living.

Her work asks us to look backward so that we may find a way forward, circling themes like grief, trauma and memory, as well as healing, dreaming, intimacy, and liberation. It prompts us to untangle difficult experiences, explore alternate realities, forge connections, and come closer to our authentic selves.

Anna is interested in collaborating across disciplines - from the arts, to education, healthcare, and ecology - taking an intersectional approach to challenges we face in today’s world and nurturing personal and collective transformation.
