About this Event

Ready to rewild your yard? During this workshop while we sow native seeds with our hands, we'll explore the history of Alberta's lands, understanding the consequences of the removal of native plants on our landscape on species like fireflies. You’ll be provided practical maintenance tips and seasonal best practices for supporting our ecosystem, and an introductory to the many interesting species that call our province home.
With the partnership of Waste Free Edmonton, Pesticide Free Edmonton, Edmonton River Valley Conservation Coalition and Edmonton Native Plant Society - our goal is for all attendees to leave feeling curious, and engaged. Meeting others who share the same goals, ready to take action and educate others on how we as a community can work together to sustain the fireflies, birds, and bees.

You will leave with potted Gaillardia, Wild Blue Flax, Giant Anise Hyssop, and Meadow Blazing star.

What to bring: toilet paper rolls, non-glossy newspaper, recycled plant pots, and an eagerness to learn! Dress to play with soil!
