The "Dreaming minds - new perspectives on the relation between dreams and consciousness" student conference aims to bring together students and researchers in philosophy of mind and cognitive science, in order to advance our understanding on the relation between dreaming and consciousness.In light of the advances in neuroscientific and psychological work on dreaming, we aim to explore how these findings might bear on theories of consciousness, on both human and non-human. Topics of interest
-The relation between dreams and imagination
-Animal and nonhuman animal subjectivy and dreams
-Theories of non-human animal consciousness and dreams
The conference will take place 18-19 May 2024, between 9 AM- 9 PM, local time for Bucharest, Romania. Regular presentations will be 20 minutes long, followed by 10 minutes long Q&A. It will have a mixed format, in that speakers may choose whether they present online only or face to face at the event's location (if so, their session will enjoy a live audience, but it will also be streamed to remote participants).
