Attention, comic fans, aspiring artists, and families! Join us for Drawn Together: A Celebration of Detroit Comic Creators on Saturday, 8/15. Presented in conjunction with the exhibition Heroes vs. Villains: Detroit's Comic Book Story, this day-long event will bring together acclaimed comic artists, illustrators, and storytellers with deep Detroit roots for workshops, presentations, and conversations celebrating the region's impact on the comic book industry.

Hands-on workshops for all ages and skill levels led by Katie Cook, whose work spans beloved franchises including My Little Pony, Star Wars, Marvel, and Jim Henson projects
? Time to Art with Dave Chow | 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Learn about the illustrator's career spanning comics, automotive design, advertising, music, and visual storytelling.
? Early Comic Book Fandom in Detroit | 1 - 2 p.m.
Pioneering artists Arvell Jones, B.K. Taylor, and Michael Kucharski will share stories of Detroit's early comic book community and the city's role in shaping generations of creators.
? A Talk with Bill Morrison | 2 - 3 p.m.
Get an inside look at the career of the acclaimed illustrator, former MAD Magazine editor-in-chief, and longtime creative force behind The Simpsons and Futurama comics.
?️ Community Mural Painting | 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Help paint a square of our new mural for the Dossin Great Lakes Museum - "Currents in Color" by Brontae Williamson.
